At Bradstreet Lawn & Garden we have been servicing the Greater Bangor area for well over 50 years and it is our philosophy to treat every customer fairly, educate them on our outdoor power equipment, and make sure they purchase the right piece
of equipment for their outdoor needs.
We started out in 1961 as Bradstreet Fuel Co., with the owners being Doug & Cynthia Sherburne. Reggie, their son, started working for them when he was in high school and is now the owner of the business along with his son Mike. In 1974 Reggie
and his wife Eileen decided to branch out into another market sector by taking on outdoor power equipment. This new endeavor took them into the market of offering Wheel Horse tractors from their home for a short time.
Now it's 1975 and we built a new building at our current location in Brewer at 30 Industrial Plaza Drive where we operated until the late 80's. The state started doing interstate construction which made it difficult to run our business at this
location so we made the decision to move to Wilson Street up the road in Brewer. The fuel business was sold in 2001 and the name was officially changed to Bradstreet Lawn & Garden.
As our business grew we added more quality products from the leading manufacturers to our showroom including Husqvarna, Echo, Toro, BSC, and Billy Goat. While operating out of our Wilson Street location, Brewer was growing and so was the traffic.
We needed a larger showroom, and easier access for our customers, so we saw it as an opportune time to “Move Back Home” since the interstate construction was complete and the Industrial Park was starting to have more businesses moving in.
So in 2005 after renovating and adding a new 40' x 70' showroom to our former building we moved back home and we've been here since. Our showroom is stocked with outdoor power equipment, accessories, parts and our own service department catering to
homeowners, landscapers and commercial contractors. We have a large parking lot to offer ample parking and equipment pick-up and drop-off with ease.
Being a family run business, just like his father, Mike (Reggie's and Eileen's son) joined the business while still in high school and is now part owner. In addition, when Eileen retired, Mike's wife Stephanie joined the team and does the
bookkeeping while managing the office. During 2015 Reggie decided it was time to work less and now Mike runs the general operations of the business. You will still see Reggie in the store, just not every day!
